In-person Opera Camp, $325 June 14-18; 8:30-4:30 p.m. daily. For rising grades 3-8. Back by popular demand, this camp highlights Mosaic’s signature, the unity of music, dance, and drama. Do you love the arts? Storytelling? Singing? Come explore with friends who share those interests. We will explore songs from opera choruses, children’s choir, and musical theater, do physical and vocal warm-ups, have theater improv lessons, learn about jobs in the arts, meet with guest artists, make fun crafts, and study and watch a specific opera and music theater work. Some special traditions are playing Chick-a-pig (now with gloves,) having puppet shows (one person and distanced shows,) and drinking tea on the porch. This camp will be held at the home studio of the Artistic Director and Azalea Park. All singing will be outdoors with masks. The majority of the camp will be outside and masked unless students are sitting and distanced. If inside, strict covid protocols will be followed including masks, physical distancing, daily health screenings, and temperature checks. Space is limited to 8 participants. Priority is given to current Mosaic families.
