Mary Anderson, Pebbles Instructor, is an experienced musician, performer, and early childhood music educator, whose mission is to engage, educate, and inspire all young children with high quality music learning experiences that support their brain development and overall wellness. In 2019, Mary launched a multi-platform, early childhood music program that includes a music integration curriculum for early childhood educators, educator training and support, and parent education. In response to the pandemic-related school closures in 2020, Mary and her husband Mike, developed, produced, and co-hosted a children’s television program called Songs and Stories, in order to reach children that did not have access to a teacher or reliable internet service. Currently, Songs and Stories is airing on PBS stations across Virginia and is available on PBS Learning Media, Go Open VA, Blue Ridge PBS ECHO, and PBS.org. Mary lives in Charlottesville, VA with her husband Mike and their two young sons and envisions a world in which every child – regardless of their race, gender, location, school, childcare, abilities, or socioeconomic status – has the opportunity to learn, grow, and be inspired by the power of music and to reach their highest potential.
